Experience Kinesiology

The Main Factors in Kinesiology

We understand the body through different eyes to Western Medicine. Western Medicine looks at a person's symptoms and bases most treatment on the symptoms, Kinesiology considers the function of the body "in relation to":

  • the Neuro-Lymphatic Reflex system
  • the Neuro-Vascular Reflex system
  • the Acupuncture Meridian system

and how these systems may or may not be "switched-on" for muscle/organ function.

We also consider the Survival Systems of the body...

  • Feeding
  • Fight / Flight / Fright
  • Reproduction
  • Limbic / Immune

...through the TRIAD OF HEALTH which considers:

  1. Structural / Physical
  2. Nutritional / Chemical
  3. Emotional / Mental

and the Acupuncture Energy system which connects all of the above. The Spiritual aspect is also very important as we are essentially Spiritual Beings having a "Human Experience!"

What can Kinesiology help with?

Over the last 30 or more years more than 100 different modalities of Kinesiology have developed in about 30 countries around the globe. We now have a tremendous pool of experience to draw from when training and learning how to assist our friends and clients to a higher quality of life. All Kinesiologists use the "Muscle Testing or Muscle Monitoring" technique to evaluate and educate the body's nervous system with new information as a person moves towards a more integrated state of being.

Kinesiology can assist and often help people who experience many of the following problems:

  • Emotional Stress problems
  • Physical imbalances resulting in pain
  • Mental problems involving an area of learning, (eg. ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia etc) either at school or at work and play
  • Nutritional imbalances / deficiencies resulting in disease states
  • Relationship difficulties and is a great tool in counseling often getting to the root cause of the problem in a very short time.
  • Enhancement in sports performance as well as injury prevention
  • Goal setting
  • Overcoming phobias which can be life destroying for many people.
  • Clearing chemical and food allergies and intolerances
  • Plus giving a new self responsibility to each person so they can take charge of their own life.

Kinesiology Session Structure

What is involved in a Kinesiology Session?

Disclaimer

Kinesiology does not claim to cure anything, Kinesiologists aim to be the conduit or facilitator of change in the body to allow it to heal itself. Dr George Goodheart DC, (dec'd May 2008) the father of Kinesiology said "The body is simply intricate and intricately simple". If you supply the right measure you will get the right response.

Kinesiology is a therapy involving a client and a practitioner. It is a sacred contract between two people with both working together to achieve a positive outcome. Some practitioners work from offices, clinics and some will operate from a space in their home set aside for clinical work. The session can last from 30 minutes to one and a half hours, depending on the client's presenting problems. Follow up visits may be required depending on the duration and severity of the issue. The fees charged may vary from $60 to over $200, again depending on all factors.

Muscle Testing

The practitioner will use muscle testing / checking / monitoring to evaluate stress levels in the person's nervous and energy systems. As Kinesiology has its background in Chiropractic / Osteopathic and Acupuncture philosophies it is a hands on therapy.

Booking an Appointment

The system for booking an appointment will be different depending on the practitioner.

History Taken

On arrival, before any therapy is started a thorough history will be taken including major injuries and diseases, medication and supplements, lifestyle questions, etc. The reason for the visit will be discussed including what the issue is preventing you from doing, experiencing or achieving.

The Therapy Session

Most practitioners will use a massage table for the session but you may sit or stand for periods too, depending on what you are working on. At no time will the person be completely naked, however it may be required for the person to remove some of their clothing to to perform certain aspects of the therapy. Although Kinesiology is not massage there are some massage principles used by some Kinesiologists.

The arms or legs are usually used to perform the muscle testing and muscle response testing. A muscle test is performed to check for the integrity of an individual muscle. Once this has been performed and is treated to bring it into "balance", it is known as an intact, neurologically integrated muscle. This muscle can now be used to test for problems and imbalances in other muscles and the nervous system. This may involve checking for cranial bone blockages, emotional stress on various issues from the past, the present or the future. It can identify factors unknown to the person's conscious thinking, injuries not remembered, allergies to foods and various substances in the environment, phobias etc. Pain in the body may manifest as physical pain when in fact the cause may be an unresolved emotional issue. Many injuries which have healed physically still retain a memory in the nervous system which becomes unconscious and can continue to cause pain. Muscle testing can reveal this, and reprogram the nervous system through simple corrections such as the stimulation of a point, flower essences, processing of emotion, etc.

Specific Learning Difficulties

Over the last 25 years many researchers in Kinesiology have noted great improvements in ADD, ADHD, Dyslexia, reading, writing and spelling with children of all ages. This is a particular area of interest and many Kinesiologists treat children suffering from these problems.

Outcomes

Change can often be experienced after just one session.  Depending on what is being worked it may take multiple sessions to achieve the desired outcome.  Long standing issues can often be complex and need to be resolved like peeling back layers of an onion.

Future Visits

Your kinesiologist will normally talk to you about the number of sessions required and frequency.
