Membership LevelsMembership Requirements of the Australian Institute of Kinesiologists are as follows
1. Associate/Student:Members of the public interested in kinesiology; professionals from other fields including medicine; students who do not meet the Ordinary Membership requirements Entitlements: Members can vote at Branch level; entitled to e-News and e-Indicator and LOGIN for all information on website. 2. Certificate / Ordinary:
Minimum Certificate / Ordinary Membership Level Requirement Kinesiologists who meet the requirements for The Institute's accredited course hours (as listed above) as well as graduates of HLT42807 Certificate IV in Kinesiology will be eligible to join at this level. Note: For a HLT42807 Certificate IV in Kinesiology of any RTO to be accredited by The Institute, its curriculum must also meet the requirements for The Institute's accredited course hours. Associate Diploma / Professional:
Minimum Associate Diploma / Professional Membership Level Requirement Kinesiologists who meet the requirements for The Institute's accredited course hours (as listed above) as well as graduates of HLT51507 Diploma of Kinesiology will be eligible to join at this level. Note: For a HLT51507 Diploma of Kinesiology of any RTO to be accredited by The Institute, its curriculum must also meet the requirements for The Institute's accredited course hours. For a list of The Institute's Accredited Courses - Click Here Entitlements: Members have voting rights at Branch and National levels; can hold office bearer's position; can represent a Branch as a National Executive; entitled to e-News and e-Indicator. 4. Associate Fellow The Member has undertaken over 1,000 hrs of accredited training: This level requires Professional Membership with The Institute for a minimum of 5 continuous years. The Member may then apply for this Membership Level. The Applicant is required to have held at least one position for a full year as a member of the National Executive at the level of President, Secretary or Treasurer. The Applicant is also required to have published a minimum of 3 papers in the e-Indicator or its equivalent and have presented at a Conference of The Institute 5. FellowBy appointment of the National Executive The Applicant needs to have been an Associate Fellow for 5 or more years. 6. Life MemberHas contributed significantly to Kinesiology or the AIK Ltd. with appointment by the National Executive. To qualify member must be fully paid up Associate Diploma/Professional Member or above at the time of nomination and acceptance. Once a Life Membership has been awarded a Practicing Life Member must continue to hold Senior First Aid Certificate and Indemnity Insurance and complete the 20 C.P.E. points each year. No time limit is placed on Membership. 7. Honorary MemberBy appointment of the National Executive
